YHE GOVERMENT PLAN IN GARANTEEED THE 401K IS NOT WHAT EVER STOCK MARKET DOES THATS WHAT YOU GET, THE 401K CAN MAKE GOOD MONEY BUT ALSO CAN LOOSE, THE BANKS CAN FOLD BUT THE GOVERNMENT BACKS THEM I have some debt (-10K at 11.99%) and very little in savings other than my 401K. I can (almost) afford to pay off the entire debt, however, given the economic climate, I almost feel I should hang on to my cash.
