New Symbol of India's Rupee « Vidur's Blog
I woke up in the morning on July  16,  2010 and saw in the news papers this new symbol of Indian Rupee. It attracted me instantly. It was classy in look and very artistic. I must  admit that I loved it immensely. My country enters the elite club now. Only  USA,  UK,  JAPAN and EUROPE  have symbols for their currencies. Now India also joins the club. D. Udaykumar, a student of IIT, Mumbai, designed the new symbol. He basically hails from Tamilnadu and at present works as professor in  Guwahati, Assam. When Reserve Bank of India decided to have a symbol of Rupee, they called for designs and got 3000 proposals. Out of those 3000 ... market research, surveys and trends
India Joins the Dollar Bashing Club: Getting Out of the US Dollar ...
It seems to be an unspoken reality, as one country after the other expresses its horror at US monetary and economic policy, that nations are trying to divest themselves of the US Dollar before it collapses entirely.  The dollar is being treated like salt water, as if it can be forever printed to cover our outrageous debt and crazed spending and magically we’ll suffer no consequences.  India has looked at the dollar and concluded that they need much fewer of them and that the world trading markets can’t be based on a US dollar because our national debt and spending policies  are clearly unsustainable and insane.  India is an ... market research, surveys and trends

INDIA – US NUCLEAR DEAL – The Benefits

Naomi Klein on the Bailout Profiteers and the Multi-Trillion ...
"The more details emerge, the clearer it becomes that Washington’s handling of the Wall Street bailout is not merely incompetent. It is borderline criminal," says Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine . [includes rush transcript] AMY GOODMAN: World leaders from nearly two dozen countries met in Washington over the weekend to discuss plans to increase regulation of international financial activity. India seeks an exalted global profile
A characteristic of India's ruling elite is its insatiable appetite for symbols of grandeur and obsession with exclusivity. Witness the jubilation over India joining the global Nuclear Club, New Delhi's smug satisfaction at being invited into the Group of 20, and its tireless effort to get a permanent Security Council seat. Such craving for status comes naturally to our upper crust which spends millions of rupees on exhibitionist weddings and local gymkhana or golf course membership. Status fetishism drives it to buy its children's admissions to super-expensive schools. Of a piece with this is New Delhi's ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
New rupee symbol reflects strength of economy
The Indian rupee will soon have a distinct and identifiable symbol that would reflect the strength of the over-trillion-dollar economy. The Indian currency will now join an exclusive club of international currencies — the US dollar, the British pound, the Japanese yen and the euro — that have their own symbols. The new symbol, which is a blend of the Devanigiri ‘Ra' and roman ‘R', has been designed by Bombay IIT post-graduate Mr D. Udaya Kumar and approved by the Union Cabinet today. Mr Kumar's design was selected from amongst 3,000 entries received in a public competition. The entries were ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

WikiAnswers - What are the advantages of the India-Us nuclear deal
At the moment, Indian Opposition politicians think that the country's independence and prestige have been sold out. Many US politicians are thinking that a gaping hole has been punched into the NPT regime. Yes, both are right, although the Indian side is stretching it a bit. In US, the Nuclear Lobby Group has gained an upper hand. When Manmohan - Bush finalized this deal in July of 2005, the Lobby Group mounted an instantaneous opposition. Unable to persuade the Bush administration to renege the deal, they changed tactics and have started a campaign against it with the US Congress (the elected body). This resulted in US ...

Anyone have personal experience with ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and/or Stephen Hayes 'Get Out Of Your Mind, And Into Your Life'? My husband is going to be staying in Provo, Utah, next week for work (visiting from New Zealand). He's busy during the day. What are the highlights for dinner food and things-to-see-at-night? He has a rental car. I've been sent an email from a company producing a calendar. They are interested in using some of my photos from flickr for their calendar - not as main images, but as smaller fill pictures. I've said I'm interested, but I've never done anything ...
