It was the third year in a row the school has topped the table. The best institution offering a part-time MBA was said to be Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. MBA: To be or not to be???
In March 2005, Seth Godin suggested that “Actual experience combined with a dedicated reading of 30 to 40 books might be a better use of time and money than an MBA degree”. Many people wanted to know the answer to this million-dollar question – “What are the titles of those 30-40 volumes?” Well, there’s no single right answer, of course!!!  I’ve seen people with MBAs who make the most out of their acumen and experience; I’ve observed people with MBAs whose degree seemed to add zero value to them; and I’ve met many folks who’re in-between these two extremes. Therefore, I ... market research, surveys and trends

How to Create Your Own Real-World MBA – II
Part I explained how, instead of getting an MBA, I invested the tuition dollars into angel investing. To recap, my current stats for the two-year “Tim Ferriss Fund” look like this: 15 or so total investments 0 deaths 2 successful “exits”, or sales (including my own company) If we look at the value of my remaining start-ups on paper, based on subsequent funding and valuations, the portfolio is probably up well over 4x. This means nothing (remember Webvan ?), but it’s fun to look at the spreadsheet. This post will look at how I’ve found deals, how I filter deals, and the rules I’ve set for ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Analysis of S&P's list of 10 LBO candidates.
I came across this article in Bloomberg news today. It mentions private-equity firms have more than $500 billion of cash waiting to be put to work. The capital must be deployed or else PE firms must return it to their investors. Buyout shops are itching to get their hands on what they see as undervalued assets. Access to credit remains pretty steady and banks are willing to lend, so bankers and analysts expect leveraged buyouts to account for a fair portion of overall M&A activity. What is out there to buy? Standard & Poor’s has come up with a list of 10 publicly traded companies that could be LBO targets, based on current ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

MBA at age over 35. Does it make any sense? | LinkedIn Answers ...
I have been working in IT field for about twelve years. I started as a systems administrator in a really small company (10 people), then jumped into a similar position in a little bigger one and for the last five years working in a branch of a truly big company. However, I always worked solo, I mean I was the only responsible for IT in all my past and present organizations. Therefore, I haven't got any experience in management, but I'd like to advance there. I see MBA as a possible way to achieve that. However, next month I'll hit 35. Isn't too late for taking MBA? posted March 16, 2009 in Education and Schools
