Investing in Gold Stocks

hether you're investing in stocks, bonds, gold coins or real estate, you are rewarded primarily for your exposure to one thing - risk. In the summer of 2005, I warned readers that if they were speculating in real estate, the time had come to cash in their chips and get out of the game. I listed a number of reasons, but the biggest one was that ordinarily sensible people were talking and acting as if highly-leveraged home purchases were risk-free transactions. After all, they kept telling me, "real estate always goes up." It doesn't, of course. And now everybody knows it. According to the S&P/Case-Shiller Home ...
is the most popular as an investment. Investors generally buy gold as a hedge or safe haven against any economic, political, social or currency-based crises. These crises include investment market declines, burgeoning national debt, currency failure, inflation, war and social unrest. Speculators also buy gold early in a bull market and aim to sell it before a bear market begins, in an attempt to gain financially.
The Reasons Investors Have Been Interested In Gold
The diversified portfolio has a small position in the gold market. For some investing in gold means holding gold coins. Some speculators buy gold contact futures on the commodity exchange. Future contracts are risky because you are betting that the price of gold will go higher in the future.  The contract requires a relatively small up front payment, but there can be daily fluctuations that require you have funds to back the dips in the price of daily gold.    Investing in gold stocks and precious metal index funds can be purchased through a stock broker. A stock broker specializing in this area is very important because the ... market research, surveys and trends
Buying Gold: The Complete Beginner's Guide to Investing in Gold ...
While I don't invest a great deal in gold, I think it is a good idea to see other viewpoints and share them with readers. You, of course, must make your own decisions about how you invest, and choose your investment path at your own risk. As a beginner in the investment world, there can be some things that confusing initially. If gold investments were straight forward, things would be much easier for everyone involved. Unfortunately, it does not always work that way. What type of gold do I buy? Where should I buy it? When is a good time to get involved in the gold market? These are all fair questions for a beginner to ... market research, surveys and trends

Trading and Investing in Gold Stocks
In the mid 80's, gold lost much of its function as a hedge against inflation and political adversity. Less and less, it operated as a store of value, as an alternative currency and as a safe haven. Fundamental changes in supply, demand, international currency structures and trade regulations helped transform it from a hoarded asset to a tradable commodity. In this transformation it has returned to its original use as decoration, jewelry and conspicuous consumption. Over the past two hundred years gold assumed the role of a refuge; a bet against your fellow man giving the investor a stake in disorder, inflation and a ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Investing in gold stocks, funds may be a smart move :: CHICAGO SUN ...
Is it pure coincidence that gold prices broke out to new highs above $375 per ounce in the same week that the Congressional Budget Office predicted that the federal deficit could exceed $500 billion next year? Or is it that the world is awakening to the fact that America has been borrowing its way to economic growth--and is likely to print its way to paying off all that debt? So what has a better track record than any government's paper currency over the centuries? Gold. If you're tempted to pass on the rest of this column because you "know" that gold is a relic of the past, you might miss the next big bull ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Time to Board the Gold Stocks Train?
One of the big hints that gold stocks will be ready for take-off is when they stop following the broader markets and strictly track gold, particularly if the market falls and gold stocks dont. We now have data showing this has just occurred. From April 2009 to April 2010, gold stocks mirrored the S&P. The two markets held hands as often as high school sweethearts; there was very little separation between them. While it wasnt always a daily connection, any weekly and especially monthly chart showed them moving in tandem. Until now. For the quarterly period of April through June, gold stocks advanced 11%, tracking golds gain of ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Chen Lin: Gold Stocks Poised for Breakout
Chen Lin is an independent investor living the dream. Since December 2002, he's turned slightly more than $5,000 into nearly $1M through value investing and exceptional market timing. Now he believes gold producer shares are poised for a breakout. "Every gold producer is making an incredible amount of money, and the market doesn't appreciate that much. That's a very interesting phenomenon. One thing will happeneither gold has to come down significantly or gold shares will go up significantly. I believe it's the latter," Lin says. In this exclusive interview with  The Gold Report , Lin shares ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
