i3 is a new $4.35 billion program created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that provides competitive grants to school districts, schools, and non-profits implementing successful innovative practices. As of Wednesday, May 12th, 1,669 applications had been submitted with more potentially coming in from applicants in the federally-declared disaster area in Tennessee. You have some assumptions in your questions that I would like to address first. You want something new and different (innovative), you want high return and you want high customer satisfaction. In the investment world, everything has trade-offs. As my Daddy used to say, if it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. To get high returns you take high risks. I am with both Vanguard and Fidelity. Vanguard has lower expense ratio, but Fidelity seems to have more investment choices. What is your mutual fund company? Expense ratio is very important as mutual funds typically don't accomplish that much. Paul, Thanks for sharing the info about American Funds. I looked at http://performance.morningstar.com/fund/performance-return.action?Country=USA&Symbol=AIVSX. Not impressed. My opinion is I have seen better performing funds without 5.75% front-load.
