but since the changes of the Renaissance were not uniform across Europe, this is a general use of the term. As a cultural movement, it encompassed a resurgence of learning based on classical sources, the development of linear perspective in painting, and gradual but widespread educational reform. Traditionally, this intellectual transformation has resulted in the Renaissance being viewed as a bridge between the Middle Ages and the Modern era . The Greatest Traders | Investing Contrarian
In his recent book ‘Outliers’ Malcolm Gladwell describes the 10,000-Hour Rule, claiming that the key to success in any cognitively complex field is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing a specific task for a total of around 10,000 hours. 10,000 hours equates to around 4hrs a day for 10 years. For some reason most people that ‘try their hand’ at trading view it as a get rich quick scheme. That in a very short space of time, they will be able to turn $500 into $1 million! Wealth Matters - Here's $50 Million; What's Your Risk Tolerance ...
At times, writing a column about people who have tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars, it feels like I am on the outside looking in. This week, though, I got to see how I would invest if I were a very wealthy person. Barclays Wealth offered to analyze my investing personality. The drill seemed simple. I would answer the 57 questions in their new behavioral finance profile, and they would tell me what kind of investing personality I had. Then they would show me how my personality traits could be used to create a portfolio I would be comfortable with. I wasn’t entirely persuaded. If you have your BA in Business and are planning on Grad School ...
I agree totally with the other posts, but as a different approach you might consider getting some work experience first if this is possible. As the other posters have said, most MBA schools require work experience and whilst you can take a subject masters - such as an MSc in Finance - to get further depth, you could look to see if a graduate trainee position is possible. If you could become established in a major company it is possible that they might sponsor you to take an MBA at a top school. With so many MBA's around, I really think that graduating from a major school has key advantages and these schools generally take ...
How do I learn to not need someone and how to be an individual ...
How do I move away from needing someone to freely choosing or not choosing them instead? And the closely related question is how do I become more of an individual? Due to my job situation I've had to live apart from my wife for the past year and a half. For the first 9 months she had the kids, but now I do. Right now, it's a nine hour drive's distance between us so we see her only once a month or sometimes less often for a weekend. Our marriage is strained in the first place, and the distance has only made things worse. She needs to sell our house in order for her to move to live with us. It's a bad economy, ...
