The New Day Trader Advantage | Futures Options Trading
The title is a misnomer, it is more about short term position or swing trading rather than strict day trading. Though in the book, the author redefines “day trading” as such. I liked the ideas in the book about examining various market indexes relative to others to find those sectors that are performing best or worst. Using this info you can focus on those sectors to look for stocks to research. One of the better and easily accessible ideas for getting a decent big picture impression. These ideas might be worth the discounted price of the book. On the other hand, the book was FULL of sales pitches for this service, ... market research, surveys and trends
A View From The Cave: Overheads Over Your Head?
Learning and discussing what is good and effective international aid and development (and other things that strike my fancy). Bewilderingly, the discussion concerning overheads remains an important point for news organizations, donors and organizations.  Sean Penn was featured in the Guardian (I am not going to link the piece, here because it is a waste of a read and can easily be found) telling of how services were not being delivered and money spent.  ABC even decided to go back and see how the money has been spent .  A great summary of the expected burn rate when it comes to disaster relief was done by ... market research, surveys and trends

Are New Digital Networks Part Of The Cure?
GREENVILLE, Miss.--These days, Debra Richardson, a 53-year-old former schoolteacher with diabetes and other chronic diseases, spends a lot of time thinking about how to turn around her deteriorating health. She monitors her blood sugar every day. She watches the time so she won't miss taking her pills. And she regularly attends meetings on how to eat more nutritious foods--all of which her doctors can track with a computerized medical records system. "Right now I'm trying to get this blood pressure and this sugar kind of controlled," said Richardson, who hopes the new digital network set up by the Delta ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Embracing Systemic Reform
Despite the emphasis on comprehensive education reform in the federal Race to the Top initiative, current headlines reveal continued pursuit of piecemeal reforms such as pay for performance, teacher tenure, school restructuring, and myriad other stand-alone solutions. The end result of such reforms is a patchwork of misaligned programs that do not consider the ultimate goal: a seamless K-12 education system for all students. In Bringing School Reform to Scale (Harvard Education Press, 2009), I use the stories of five urban school districts to make the case that raising achievement for all students requires systemic change. These ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

ODEP - Investing in People
All employees need the right tools and work environment to effectively perform their jobs. Similarly, individuals with disabilities may need workplace adjustments—or accommodations—to maximize the value they can add to their employer. An accommodation can be simple, such as putting blocks under a table’s legs so that a person who uses a wheelchair can roll up to it. It might involve advanced technology, such as installing a screen reader on a computer so that a person who is blind can manage documents. It may be procedural, such as altering a work schedule or job assignments. When thinking about accommodations, ... technology research, surveys study and trend statistics
Center for Computational Thinking, Carnegie Mellon
A conference in which the creators of these environments can meet, present and discuss their initiatives (some of which are commercial, others open-source); An exhibition of interactive installations created with these environments; An evening programme of audiovisual performances created with these environments. Computational thinking has had a profound impact on the way we communicate. More than ever, our mental models of our personal information universes have come to mirror the online databases in which they are stored, and we are increasingly called upon to think procedurally when we ...
Government for the people... How can we get better access to ...
According to English, American, and other western societies we have government for the people by the people, yet to many of "The People" it is sometimes difficult to see how their government acts in their own best interests. Sometimes it is difficult to see that certain bodies are acting FOR the people. In fact most feel them to be operating AGAINST the will of the people. It is complex; no-one wants to pay income tax, yet everyone wants the benefits derived from the tax. Most government organisations, whether local, national, or international, have web sites yet the information available to citizens is generally described as ...
I'm thinking of investing in a hard wood floor - Brazilian Koa ...
Brazilian Koa, also known as Tigerwood. I'm thinking of getting this installed in a LR, DR, Hall and BR and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it. It's unique and gorgeous and I don't think any other wood is going to make me happy after seeing this one. I have a pretty small place but with the economy and housing values plummeting I'm a little worried about dumping all this money into my condo. There is carpet now but I do not want to replace with carpet because of the chemicals. I don't want wool because I seem to have a recurring moth problem. I considered tile and I plan to put it in ...
