Verizon returns unsold Kin phones, pulls online sales | 4ZB.Net
A pair of insiders disclosed today that Verizon is returning all the unsold stock of the Microsoft Kin line as of Monday. The carrier has decided against selling remaining stock and will simply give the phones back to Microsoft. It has also pulled online sales of both the Kin One and Kin Two entirely and now just sells the accessories. The exit marks the formal end to the Kin, which is already considered one of Microsoft’s greatest failures to date. Microsoft dropped the entire series after just over six weeks, despite investing years into the project. It’s also rumored, though unconfirmed, that Microsoft had ... market research, surveys and trends
Verizon returns unsold Kin phones, pulls online sales - MacDailyNews
Microsoft's marketing genius spent $250 million on marketing, which appeared to work out at about $28K per phone sold. That is of course disregarding the development and manufacturing costs, which would have been immense. Now who was it who said "There's no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance. It's a $500 subsidized item." ? Jul 19, 10 - 12:25 pm Comment from: Firebrain This is what the FUD packers wanted Apple to do with iPhone 4. They wanted them to recall all iP4s and go back to Cupertino with their tail between their legs just like this pitiful but epic MS fail. market research, surveys and trends

Venture capital investing in state falls by 40 percent in 2009
The well ran dry last year in Washington as venture capital investments fell 40 percent to $555 million, the lowest amount invested in the state in six years. The number of deals also declined to levels not seen since 2003 as venture capitalists pumped money into just 103 deals. The declines were also seen nationally, according to the MoneyTree Survey from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. The report found that investments fell 37 percent when compared to 2008, while the number of deals declined 30 percent. Microsoft pays mobile app developers to catch up to iPhone and Android
Microsoft today has finally admitted that it’s offering a “variety of financial incentives” to developers, reports Bloomberg . Todd Brix, a Microsoft senior director who works with app developers, says that the company is providing tools, phones, and funds for development and marketing of mobile software. Some lucky developers are also receiving revenue guarantees from Microsoft — so if an app doesn’t sell as well as predicted, Microsoft will pay the difference. Brix went on to say that Microsoft has used similar methods in the past for its mobile operating systems, but this time around it’s ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Microsoft trims its workforce
The reductions are part of a review of corporate priorities at the end of the fiscal year, according to a company source, who did not want to be identified. Microsoft's fiscal year ended June 30. The annual review usually involves reorganizing, investing and divesting in different areas based on the company's strategic direction, the source said. The job cuts are far smaller than the layoffs in 2009, when Microsoft eliminated 5,800 jobs in the first companywide reduction in its history. The company's current head count is 88,596 worldwide, with 39,824 of those employees working in the Puget Sound area. The company ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Do i have to buy the KIN ONE with internet? - Yahoo! Answers
Most service providers make you purchase a data plan with data capable phones these days. I know Verizon requires you to buy a 29.99 a month data plan with the Kin One, So most likely yes, you would have to purchase a data plan in order to get that phone even if you don't actually want to. Your best bet would be to ask your service provider if it's required but unfortunately I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to. 2 months ago 100% 1 Vote There are currently no comments for this question. * You must be logged into Answers to add comments. Can a tenant change locks when landlord dies and next of kin takes ...
After my father's passing, I have found it very difficult to get straight answers from his tenants. Several of his buildings are getting foreclosed on, and i sense he was getting taken advantage of (which may have led to stress and ultimately his demise). I think the tenants are afraid because they have something to hide. We tried to unlock the building to show it to realtors, only to find that the keys did not fit (presumably new locks). We'll look into the law aspect of this situation, but I was just curious if anyone knew what the sorta deal was with this situation. And no, my father did not have a ...
