Heineken, the world's third largest brewer, has announced the US$7.6 billion acquisition of the beer operations of the Latin American company FEMSA. Several other large brewers were interested in FEMSA's beer assets, including the global number two brewer SABMiller due to FEMSA's unique position in the Latin American market and its small but expanding export operations. If you happen to travel in the US-India corridor, as I do, next time watch CNBC in the US and then go watch CNBC in India, or vice versa. You’ll immediately notice some differences. One difference is in how the two channels see the stock market. CNBC in India treats the market as an ‘actor’. It doesn’t just go up or down, it often has a mind of its own and moves in ‘mysterious ways its wonders to perform’. A lot more air-time is spent on the ‘technical’ analysis of the market. CNBC in the US takes a more ‘fundamental’ view of the market – changes in the market are an ‘outcome’ of what’s happening to the economy, sub-prime loans, ... market research, surveys and trends

My google adsense earnings are down the drain.
My google adsense earnings are down the drain. This is by far the worst month I'm experiencing - I've just earned $7 today when I used to earn over $50 a day a year ago with a lot less effort. Smart pricing or not - google has reduced the earnings per click to a bare minimum and I operate in a very competitive niche meaning that now i'm practically giving the traffic away and am looking to give more exposure to my backup programmes. I don't believe its right for google not to share its cut with us, I suspect that they are giving us less to compensate for their grossly overpriced acquisitions. This is not the ...
