I read an article...which quoted that institutional investors account for 75% of the assets in hedge funds today. My understanding was it was mostly retail, HNI that invested in Hedge Funds.... I am sure to some extent institutional investors such a pension funds allocated ~5% into hedge funds in past/present, … but 75% from institutional investors surprised me.
