I am with both Vanguard and Fidelity. Vanguard has lower expense ratio, but Fidelity seems to have more investment choices. What is your mutual fund company? Expense ratio is very important as mutual funds typically don't accomplish that much. Paul, Thanks for sharing the info about American Funds. I looked at http://performance.morningstar.com/fund/performance-return.action?Country=USA&Symbol=AIVSX. Not impressed. My opinion is I have seen better performing funds without 5.75% front-load.
