Private-equity firms are just as affected by the turmoil on Wall Street as investment banks are, in terms of being able to do deals. Yet in terms of compensation and hiring, private equity is showing signs of being more resilient than i-banking. The results of the just released Private Equity Analyst-Holt Compensation Study show that compensation at private-equity firms soared in 2007. Salaries for North American private-equity professionals rose 5.3% to $200,000 from $190,000 in 2006. Including bonuses, compensation rose 25% to $375,000 from $300,000. Bob Samuels: Why Harvard, Dartmouth, and the University of ...
Harvard, Dartmouth, MIT, Boston College, Boston University and Brandeis University all embarked on a high-risk investment strategy that has now resulted in reduced endowments, budget cuts, delayed construction projects, and job eliminations. Towards Greater Transparency in Real Estate Private Equity Funds ...
and Stanley Ross may have stirred a sleeping giant—the $100-billion world of real estate private equity funds. Linneman is a real estate professor at Wharton, and Ross is chairman of the board of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. co-founder salary for a business searching for seed funding ...
We are writing a business plan for a mobile game company that will be looking for seed funding. For the two co-founder's salaries, should we put the minimum amount we need, or the amount that the job would get paid in a normal hired situation? Would it look odd if the co-founder (who is also the senior developer/architect) gets paid less than a junior developer that we plan to hire once we're funded? The co-founder and I think we can get by with about $23k/yr each, but we also feel that people with our positions in a normal job setting would get paid around $100k. We are unsure whether it looks better to value one-self ...
