» Outlaw: A Big Media and Entertainment Stock I Love Right Now
Credit Card Accounts I Have Open Right Now at JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), Bank of America Corp (NYSE: BAC), and Citigroup Inc (NYSE: C) » Many media companies today, such as Associated Content (recently acquired by Yahoo!) and Demand Media (which may go IPO soon) somewhat cynically churn out cheap freelancer-produced online content that is designed to get traffic from search. This is not something that Murdoch's News Corporation really participates in, and I'm glad he doesn't. Jefferies Chases European Primary Dealer Roles as Bond Sales Fuel Growth
one of 18 bond dealers required to bid at U.S. Treasury auctions, plans to trade debt directly with most European central banks by the end of next year to grab market share and boost earnings. “We had a goal of getting five dealerships before the end of this year and we’ve reached that already, so we’re upping the goal,” Domenico Crapanzano , 39, head of European rates sales and trading, said in an interview, referring to official relationships with government authorities. “We’d like to double that in the next 12 to 18 months, and in the next year we’d like to have the majority of European dealerships on board.” Jefferies is ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

I have spent many hours running efficient frontiers for investment portfolios through sophisticated models. This bears out two things: 1: Diversification does bring benefits. Alternative investments bring diversification. 2: Just the ability to go short in a market greatly improves the efficient frontier of a portfolio for that asset. posted 2 months ago Financial Advisor | Financial Planning Associate | Investment Advisor | Wealth Management | Client CFO | MSSB see all my answers Alternatives are not just about diversification. Companies have owners. That is, someone owns the business... (naturally...) When an individual owns the company, it is called a privately owned corporation. When many people owns the company, it is called a public company. When you have a public company, the way many people own the company is through what is called stocks. When you have a stock, you actually own a small piece of the company. As such, you get to vote on its business, etc. Stocks are issued in limited numbers. When more people wants to buy the stock, the price goes up. When more people wants to sell the stock, the price goes down. So... if you buy your ...
