Well, to start off with, the US was only in recession for four consecutive quarters (12 months) – which is better than Britain, which remained in recession for a further two consecutive quarters (so ...

ETFs: The hottest investment around
Nowadays investors are rushing to their advisers and eagerly saying, "I hear ETFs are great. Why don't you buy me some?" (Actually, these people tend to get it wrong...and say "EFTs.") What their advisers tell them, of course, is: "What do you want INSIDE an exchange-traded fund? Exactly what do you want to buy?" Then there are conferences on ETFs for beginners. Do You Know a Trading Mistake When You See One?
It's important to recognize the difference between a true mistake and a situation in which a trade just didn't work. I found an interesting quote from Barry Ritholtz :   Good traders know that opportunistic speculation is a process. Ignore any one single outcome, focus on the methodology that can consistently avoid catastrophic losses, manage risk, preserve capital. A good process can be replicated, a random spin of the wheel cannot. ...if we expect to be wrong, then there will be no ego tied up in admitting the error, honoring the stop loss, and selling out the loser -- and preserving the capital. Even if you are new to investing, you may already know some of the most fundamental principles of sound investing. How did you learn them? Through ordinary, real-life experiences that have nothing to do with the stock market. For example, have you ever noticed that street vendors often sell seemingly unrelated products - such as umbrellas and sunglasses? Initially, that may seem odd. After all, when would a person buy both items at the same time? Probably never - and that's the point. Street vendors know that when it's raining, it's easier to sell umbrellas but harder to ... technology research, surveys study and trend statistics

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Stock market for beginners.
I think it would depend on your purpose in doing the investing. As for hands on, well, sometimes you just have to do it to learn. But rather than risk real money, you can always pretend invest. Or you can use real money if you can risk losing it all and don't care. However, if you're seriously wanting to invest for the sake of investing, my personal opinion would be to go for mutual funds. You still have to pick the type of fund you want based on your purposes, but then the fund managers do the actual investing in the stocks (and/or bonds). They do all the work of deciding what to invest in, based on the purpose ...

I know the basics just like everybody else "buy low, sell high" but what is, in your opinion, the best stock trading site that has no minimum amount to open an account, i get $1500/month but i have some bills to pay too. The stock market for beginners used to boil down to "buy low, sell high." Now it seems that the people who didn't invest in the stock market were the smart ones. In an age where even the stock experts seem to be losing their portfolios, it might feel next to impossible to gain a basic understanding of the stock market, let alone thrive there. Beware of pump & dump schemes. These are common on the ...
