Technical Analysis for Fundamental Investors

technical analysis for fundamental investors special research report Photo by www.cfd-market.com
Technical analysis often gets a lot of shtick from fundamental investors as something of a gimmick, a Wall Street fable that means nothing to the average investor as long as an that person holds the stock for long enough. However, I am here to show you the value of technical analysis even to the long-term investor and why Apple might actually be showing signs of a quality risk/reward entry point to the long side. On July 25 th , I wrote an article concerning the short-term weakness that Apple’s ( AAPL ) stock (trading at $162) would experience over the coming months, and of course, I was absolutely lambasted. Here are some ...
it focuses on the overall state of the economy, interest rates, production, earnings, and management. When analyzing a stock, futures contract, or currency using fundamental analysis there are two basic approaches one can use; bottom up analysis and top down analysis. The term is used to distinguish such analysis from other types of investment analysis , such as quantitative analysis and technical analysis . Fundamental analysis is performed on historical and present data, but with the goal of making financial forecasts . There are several possible objectives: to conduct a company stock valuation and predict its probable price ...

I’ve been on the road this weekend, bringing my sons to visit their grand-dad and celebrate his 89th birthday. As a result, posting has been slim over the last few days but I wanted to provide these charts for your consideration as an alternative to the pervasive bearishness that has been out there lately In the chart below we count the number of stocks above various moving averages and count the number of moving average crossovers, as well. We scan roughly 6400 stocks and ETFs each weekend and plot the results against a chart of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY).This chart shows that the market took a body blow last ... market research, surveys and trends
All Hail the 1040 Gods! | chessNwine
Days like today illustrate the phenomenon of when a great many market participants hone in on a key technical level. With talking heads on financial television (who usually gloss over technical analysis) speaking in earnest about head and shoulders topping patterns, as well as the all important 1040 level on the S&P 500, it is no wonder the market revisited that level in a hurry today. Keep in mind that we closed yesterday at 1074, and even opened today at 1071. However, that 1040 zone acted like a price magnet, with all eyes fixated to it. I always find it humorous to see ardent fundamental investors, who prefer macro and micro ... market research, surveys and trends

Stock Market Technical Analysis Versus Fundamental Analysis, In ...
People get involved in the stock market with the best of intentions: they do it to make their money start working harder for them. When I first started dabbling in equities right out of school, I really didn’t know much. I remember how at my first job, I received some brochures about my first 401K and an ESPP plan, but I had no idea what I was doing. Over time, I’ve educated myself about the stock market by studying investment videos , using stock analysis tools and subscribing to stock market educational services such as Morningstar and INO Market Club . These materials along with more conventional investment ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Over the last 3 years, most economists have fallen into one of two groups. The smaller group were those economists who saw the housing and credit crisis coming. Granted, most were a bit early and turned negative in 2006. Given subsequent events and the severity of the crisis, being early was certainly not a character flaw. The second and far larger group of economists failed to see almost any aspect of the credit crisis and severe recession coming. Many were still forecasting that there would be no recession as late as last July and August. What I find fascinating is how these two groups believe the economy will perform in ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Rondeau's Roundup: Could UNG's Price Finally Be Stabilizing?
Over the past couple of years, many of the people who have been attending my presentations throughout New England have been persistently asking me if the ETF/ETN charts for natural gas were ever going to trace a bullish signal again? For those few who were patient, it’s finally time to at least take a closer look. To begin, the chart that we are analyzing in today’s column is the United State Natural Gas Fund (NYSEArca: UNG). UNG is an exchange-traded security that seeks to replicate the performance of natural gas by investing in near-month gas futures contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange.       Starting our analysis ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Integrated Analysis
I had the recent pleasure of attending and presenting at Optionetics Annual Traders Summit (OASIS) earlier this month. At the event, Integrated Investor was officially launched to US clients along with the ‘Key Series,’ made up of the DividendKey , the TradingKey and the MasterKey . It was great to hear how the likes of Tom Gentile and Mike Wade have been using the software to facilitate their trading, and fantastic to have them so involved in writing and delivering the associated “Key Series” courses. If you’re one of the few who have not experienced Integrated Investor or you’ve not looked ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
