The classic bestseller by Benjamin Graham, "The Intelligent Investor" has taught and inspired hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Since its original publication in 1949, Benjamin Graham's book has remained the most respected guide to investing, due to his timeless philosophy of "value investing", which helps protect investors against the areas of possible substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies with which they will be comfortable down the road. Over the years, market developments have borne out the wisdom of Graham's basic policies, and in today's volatile market, "The ...
A regional brewery has annual production between 15,000 and 2,000,000 U.S. beer barrels per year. In order to be classified as a "regional craft brewery", a brewery must possess "either an all-malt flagship or [have] at least 50% of its volume in either all-malt beers or in beers which use adjuncts to enhance rather than lighten flavor." 1 A " brewpub " brews and sells beer on the premises. A brewpub may also be known as a microbrewery if production has a significant distribution beyond the premises - the American Brewers Association use a fixed 75% of production to determine if a company is a ...

A Blog Devoted To Helping New Investors Determine What Blogs, Websites, And Other Resources Are Essential To Stock Market Success The Only Three Questions That Count: Investing by Knowing What Others Don't What Is It About? The book rejects the premise that investing is a craft. A craft, like accounting or carpentry, is something that one can practice and obtain proficiency to meet any objective measurement of quality or standard. But, as the author asks, if investing is a craft, why do so very few smart professionals who practice the craft of investing fail to beat the market over time? That is after all the standard of ... market research, surveys and trends
Review The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need - Sale and Discount
I decided to pick up this little gem of a book after reading John Train’s The Craft of Investing for a third time. Mr. Tobias’s book was cited in The Craft as recommended reading. Having enjoyed The Craft (and a few other books by Train), I took a lark and put this book on my reading list. After reading it twice, I can safely say that Mr. Tobias knows of what he speaks. There are three principal demerits to the book. First, it seems that author went to Harvard (pronounced Hah-vuhd, for those in the know). Second, it appears that he studied business at Harvard. Third, it also appears that he graduated from ... market research, surveys and trends

The Midas Touch by John Train, ISBN: 9781906659189 at the Global ...
If you had put $10,000 in Buffett's original investing partnership at its inception in 1956, you would have collected about $293,738 by the time he dissolved it at the end of 1969. He had never suffered a down year, even in the severe bear markets of 1957, 1962, 1966, and 1969. When the partnership was wound up, you could have elected to stay with Buffett as a shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., which was spun off from the partnership and became Buffett's investing vehicle. In that event, your $10,000 would by the end of 1986 have turned into well over $5 million. So, John Train introduces the remarkable ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Shanghai Expo shows a can-do China
Before it closes in October, 70 million people - the vast majority Chinese - will visit the World Expo in Shanghai. Like the Beijing Olympics and staged on the epic scale we have come to expect from China, it has a subtext: China has arrived, and in a big way. A large-scale video presentation in China's pavilion trumpets national goals, and the country's success in meeting them. Cities is the exposition's theme, but the real message is clear: China has a vision for its future and is actively building on it. The contrast with the USA National Pavilion speaks volumes. First, there almost wasn't one. Our ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Obama Signs Financial Reform Legislation Into Law
After more than a year of wrangling by Congress to craft legislation, President Obama signed the Wall Street and Consumer Protection Act into law Wednesday at a ceremony in Washington. The new regulations are viewed by many analysts as the most sweeping reforms to hit the financial industry in more than half a century. This is "reform that will prevent the kind of shadowy deals that led to this crisis, reform that would never again put taxpayers on the hook for Wall Street's mistakes," the president said last week. The legislation, approved Thursday by the Senate on a 60 to 39 vote, provides stronger oversight of ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

I'm particularly interested in introductions for non-experts to subjects like biology, physics and astronomy, but I thought that opening up the question as broadly as possible would make it most interesting to me and other readers, especially as a future reference-point. I am thinking of books like " Mathematics for the Million ", which made math accessible to a great deal of people. The Oxford Guide to Library Research by Thomas Mann is one of the most essential books for learning how to formulate a research question and then go about answering it. Slightly more advanced, but still very much intended for the layman is What ...

Eric Stokes is the editor, and he worked with ValuEngine's  research team extensively to create the strategy that would fit the individual investors needs. The results were this: The strategy uses ValuEngine's fair market valuation model. This is a computer model that looks at dozens of pieces of fundamental data on thousands of companies. It is not a static model and is semi-intelligent in the way that it uses and relates each data point. The result is a model that is predictive across all sectors and in both bull and bear markets. Eric selected a 15 stock portfolio, so each month ValuEngine ...
