Since Benjamin Graham fathered value investing in the 1930s, the method of analysis has spawned a large number of highly successful investors, such as Graham’s own former student and employee, Warren Buffett, who is regarded as one of the most successful investors of modern times. Over the years, numerous books have been published on Benjamin Graham’s approach. Most of these books present different interpretations of value investing and are generally introductory based. Until now, there has not been an advanced hands-on guide for investors and executives who may want to apply the powerful value investing ...
However, the future distributions and the appropriate discount rate can only be assumptions. For the last 25 years, Warren Buffett has taken the value investing concept even further with a focus on "finding an outstanding company at a sensible price" rather than generic companies at a bargain price.

The Little Book That Beats the Market (Little Books. Big Profits ...
As a portfolio manager at a large New York based hedge fund I have read more investment books than I care to admit. With that being said, The Little Book That Beat the Market is the first book I have felt compelled to review on Amazon (of course, I am not really going out on a limb recommending a book that legendary investor Michael Price describes as “One of the most important investment books of the last 50 years.”) Professor Greenblatt’s first book, You Can Be a Stock Market Genius, is widely regarded as the seminal text on special situations investing and the strategies contained in the book are employed ... market research, surveys and trends
Book extract: Raghav Bahl's 'Superpower?' - Books - Book Extracts ...
While it is an intellectually rich philosophy, its quick and everyday version simply means that a person's second, third, fourth or nth life is influenced by his actions, or karma, in previous ones. By this simplistic yardstick, I must have been a foreign investor in at least a couple of my earlier births! Ever since I began my entrepreneurial life in the early 1990s, I have dealt, rather pleasantly, with foreign investors of all hues, shapes and sizes. One foreign investor or the other sits atop every key milestone. In the early days, there were venture capitalists just coming to grips with the 'maddening ... market research, surveys and trends

Wisdom on such diverse topics as: spin-offs, merger arbitrage, post-bankruptcy equities, global macro commentary and short ideas. If you’ve been following the blog lately, one of the trends you will have noticed is the increasing amount of attention I’ve been giving to large cap blue chip stocks. I’ll be the first to tell you that these are not exciting companies. There is no event driven catalyst. But as best in class companies, they remain cheap and pay out strong dividend yields. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ ) is one that I’ve constantly talked about on here. The story is all rather simple – you ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Merrill's Downfall Provides a Disclosure Lesson
It was named after a faint constellation in the southern sky: Pyxis, the Mariner’s Compass. But it helped to steer the mighty Merrill Lynch toward disaster, The New York Times’s Louise Story reports . Barely visible to any but a few inside Merrill, Pyxis was created at the height of the mortgage mania as a sink for subprime securities. Intended for one purpose and operated off the books, this entity and others like it helped Merrill obscure the outsize risks it was taking. The Pyxis story is about who knew what and when on Wall Street — and who did not. If you've missed me over the past couple of weeks ... thank you. I have been up to my eyeballs in kids and parents and flip charts and Camp Millionaire (and a whole lot more).
