SUPER funds run by banks and wealth management giants have notched up a rare win over industry funds, posting higher returns than their not-for-profit rivals for only the second time in a decade. For-profit funds, known as retail funds, delivered better returns in 2009-10 because of their higher weighting towards shares and lower write-downs of unlisted assets, the research house Chant West said. Retail funds returned 12 per cent in their first year of positive super returns since 2006-07, compared with 9.7 per cent for industry funds. July 1 (BusinessDesk) - Willis Bond & Co., the Wellington-based property developer, said it raised a $128 million for its private equity real estate fund that will target commercial property opportunities.
