Earlier this week, the International Energy Agency released a batch of new findings and reports as its contribution to the Obama administration’s “ Clean Energy Ministerial ” meeting in Washington. One report concluded that China’s total energy use now tops that of the United States, just a couple of years behind its rise to the top position on lists of emitters of carbon dioxide. (China almost immediately disputed the agency’s conclusion .) In any case, a more important analysis was the agency’s fresh look at trends in government support for research, development and demonstration of ...

The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently (Penguin Health Care ...
I have found Mr Carr’s books (both Easyway and Onlyway) quite inspiring and they both helped me stop smoking for a few months each time (I had failed many attempts previously) However I find that it is really all in your mind and although the book is right and Mr Carr’s repetitive style ensures that the message is penciled in, it is important to re-read the book regularly, only that it is very tiring The first few weeks after I stopped smoking I felt that I would never ever light up another; however, it does happen to fall back to the nasty habbit, only what I find is that each time I fall back I smoke less than the ... market research, surveys and trends

Welcome to the Green Chip Review Weekend Edition — our insights from the week in everything alternative and cleantech, as well as links to our most-read Green Chip Review and sister publication articles. When discussing energy, most people focus only on the here and now. And I have to hand it to them. That's a great way to discount renewables. But it's also a great way to miss out on what's shaping up to be the biggest investment theme of the first half of this century. You know the arguments I'm talking about... Democrats push green energy agenda -
Top Democrats put the issue of climate change back in the spotlight Tuesday, debating legislation to cut greenhouse gas emissions while announcing $3.4 billion in new clean energy funds. A key congressional committee began hearings on a "cap-and-trade" bill requiring emissions to be cut by more than 80 percent over the next four decades. Questions related to global warming have been among the most politically contentious in recent years. Democrats are generally more receptive to proposals designed to curb energy consumption in order to slow climate change; leading Republicans continue to express concern about the necessity and ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

The burka is contrary to British culture and custom
SIR – It is disappointing that Damian Green, the Immigration Minister, has ruled out a ban on the wearing of the burka (report, July 18). Wearing this oppressive garment – which is degrading to women – is a sign of Islamist extremism. It is not a religious requirement; rather it is worn as a hostile political statement. When non-Muslims visit Muslim countries they are expected to conform to local custom by covering up out of respect for the host country. The burka is contrary to British culture and custom. Those who live here should conform in the same way as non-Muslims do abroad. Rebecca Goldsmith market trends, news research and surveys resources
Obama is Preparing to Bomb Iran
After about two and a half years during which the danger of war between the United States and Iran was at a relatively low level, this threat is now rapidly increasing. A pattern of political and diplomatic events, military deployments, and media chatter now indicates that Anglo-American ruling circles, acting through the troubled Obama administration, are currently gearing up for a campaign of bombing against Iran, combined with special forces incursions designed to stir up rebellions among the non-Persian nationalities of the Islamic Republic. Naturally, the probability of a new fake Gulf of Tonkin incident or false flag ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
