CRS Fair Trade » Blog Archive » Is Child Labor-Free Cocoa Possible?
Children and Chocolate. When you pair the two in the U.S., the child is usually enjoying a sweet, tasty chocolate bar. When you pair the two in Ghana or Cote d’Ivoire or any other cocoa producing country, it can mean a child working in a cocoa field- hardly an endearing image. But, is it that cut and dry? The definition of child labor carries with it a lot of  complexity. When you consider that the cocoa that goes into your chocolate bar could come from small-scale cocoa farms, run by families, does that picture change? Can we compare the child that grows up on a family farm in America, who is responsible for certain chores on ... market research, surveys and trends

Being a Political Conservative, Is it Good for the Jews?
As one of the few Jews willing to admit to a politically conservative slant, I get asked the same question all the time, “How can you be both politically conservative and a Jew?” Most of the questioners are either liberal Jews who consider me something of a heretic, or a non-Jewish fellow conservative who is shocked at the rare find of a conservative who is a Jew. My response to the query is usually “How can a Jew no t be politically conservative?” Conservative principals such as limited government, individual responsibility,  and traditional morals are all deeply rooted in Jewish tradition. Orange Haze Covers Sky, Dispatchers Say "Non-Hazardous"
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A company spokesperson for the Special Metals plant in Huntington tells WSAZ.com the orange haze in the sky is a result of a crane malfunction. Company spokesperson Dwight Weber said there was a crane malfunction at the plant in an area where workers remove oxide from nickel-base alloys. Weber said some iron had a chemical reaction with a cleaning agent, which is what made the orange color. “The general belief is that it dissipated into the atmosphere,” Weber said. Weber said the incident was reported to the governmental Nuclear Reaction Commission. ORIGINAL STORY 5/16/10 @ 2PM HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
