My partner and I have been together for ten years. He's a 36-year-old attorney who recently closed his solo practice after four struggling years. During this time I supported us both. The strain of this financial arrangement was bad for our relationship, especially during the past two years. When it became obvious the solo practice wasn't going to work out, he explored moving into the assisted-living industry.
