I had a pretty good weekend all in all.  I went on another Rally Obedience trip with my Mom and little sister Haley.  Road trip!  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh….I LOVE road trips!  The heat though…..YUK!  Totally unbearable for everyone 2, 3 and 4 legger’s! I competed two times on Saturday and once on Sunday showing the world that Tripawds can “sorta” do what 4 leggers can do.  There were just wayyyyyyyyyy too many “sits” required in one course on Saturday – my Mom counted them and there were FOURTEEN sits in one course!  And I DID do them all but not without some protest to them all! Is It Legal For Lawmakers Work For The State After Leaving Office ...
OKLAHOMA CITY -- There's no question former legislators leave office to work for the state, but is that practice legal? The Oklahoma Impact Team started to wonder after the recent scandal involving legislators allegedly creating and funding a position for a lawmaker at the Medical Examiner's Office. "The Constitution to me is pretty clear. It says that you can't go to work for a state agency, take a state job," said Rep. Mike Reynolds, R-Oklahoma City. Reynolds said he feels strongly that legislators should wait two years after their terms in office end before working for the state. After all, ... market research, surveys and trends

Gambling Online: Is it Legal?
The issues involved in legislating online gambling are a lot more complicated today than they were six years ago when Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz) first introduced the bill known as the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act of 1997. At that time National News reporter David Isaacson had written that online gambling had grown into a 300 million dollar industry and there were about 32 online casino sites. In March 2002, Andy Sullivan of Reuters reported that Christiansen Capitol Advisors estimated gambling sites took in about $2.2 billion in revenues in 2000, and would collect $6.4 billion by 2003. World Military Spending — Global Issues
Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes … known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.… No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. — James Madison, Political Observations, 1795 Global military expenditure stands at over $1.5 trillion in annual expenditure at current prices for 2009, and has been rising in recent years. FPPC to take up 'express advocacy' issue today
California currently requires groups that run campaign ads that expressly tell voters how to vote for certain issues or candidates to disclose where they got their money and how it was spent. But if an ad simply informs the public about an issue - even if that issue has some connection to an upcoming election - the state's disclosure laws about who is bankrolling the effort are murkier. That's because over the past decade, state laws and regulations have been curbed to comply with court decisions that limited who can be forced to disclose their donors. Now, some state officials believe that a recent U.S. Supreme Court ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Road Warrior: Cellphone vigilantism: Is it legal?
You're tooling along the highway when your better half sees the driving abuse that you both detest — that hateful thing that might be causing more crashes, more injuries and more grief than all the speeding and drunken driving combined: Cellphone yakking. What do you do (besides scream and give this yakker the single-finger Jersey Salute)? Suddenly, the answer hits you. Your mate grabs your cellphone and activates the photo app from the passenger's seat. A couple of shots even show the yakker's license-plate number. "Now we've got him!" you say triumphantly. But what have you really got? Perplexed, ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

WikiAnswers - Is it legal to marry your first cousin in Michigan
In about half the US states there is no law preventing it. A handful have some special requirements. In some countries/states it is illegal. Notes from FAQ Farmers: There are bible verses that describe exactly who not to marry. Leviticus 18: 6-19 If you are a Christian, then these are reason enough.
