I can't see any ethical aspects. It's all just infrastructure and services, the only ethical issues are around what business you do with it. Legal aspects are more relevant, at least for distributed systems, as in many cases these involves more parties and any multi-party legal agreements are more risky, but it's such a well established field now that it's not going to challenge any decent contract manager or lawyer.
