Quenching its thirst for more digital information management services and solutions, Iron Mountain acquired Mimosa Systems, a provider of content archiving solutions.   The move gives Iron Mountain “on-premises” archiving and data protection capabilities, joining existing SaaS-based offerings. A smart, agressive move: Iron Mountain has dabbled in the content archiving market, focusing solely on SaaS offerings.  The firm could have purchased the software  from several other vendors (there are handfuls of archiving software providers in the market right now), but Iron Mountain chose to get the technology AND the market ...

The Friends of Mountain Brook Villages have had only one interest and that has been to preserve the unique character of Mountain Brook Village for future generations. We are disappointed that four of the City Council members did not choose to address the many issues that have been raised or consider the opinion of the 500 people who signed the petition before voting on the Evans proposal. We all believe very strongly that critical issues such as traffic, economic viability, greenspace, stormwater runoff, and protection of Watkins Brook and Shades Creek should have been resolved before the development was approved. I can’t shake the sense that the sex-offense mania – and the matrix of laws that are still growing around it – constitute a serious symptom of a profound falling-away from Constitutional maturity in the government and in the citizenry. That’s my primary concern here. As so often, the media focus stays on the vivid surfaces and immediate excitements of something that is actually of a much wider and deeper and larger significance. For those who follow the Catholic priest abuse crisis, I wanted to comment in a Post about a July 21st article on the Commonweal Magazine site. The claim made by the reporter Nick ... market research, surveys and trends

David Pratt's $31 million plan for Gander Mountain Co. - St. Louis ...
is leading a $31 million campaign to take the company private. The deal will give Pratt even firmer control of the nation’s largest retail chain of stores for hunting, fishing and camping gear and outdoor apparel and footwear. Pratt, a minority owner of the St. Louis Cardinals, owner of Rex Realty in Clayton, and owner of Colorado’s exclusive 50,000-acre Three Forks Ranch, made a fortune in 1999 when he sold 90 percent of his United Industries Inc. pesticide company to Boston-based Thomas H. Lee Co. for $620 million. He began upping his investment in St. Paul, Minn.-based Gander Mountain earlier this decade. Then in ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
A blog discussing the latest legal topics and news related to Arizona
If it’s good enough for the desert, it’s good enough for 10,000 lakes. That’s what a group in Minnesota is saying as it calls for an Arizona-style crackdown on immigration in the North Star State. And more than a thousand miles away, in Georgia, a Republican candidate for governor says he’s all for it. Ruthie Hendrycks, president and founder of Minnesotans Seeking Immigration Reform , says Arizona’s new immigration law should be mirrored in Minnesota, where roughly 125,000 illegal immigrants lived as of 2007, according to some estimates. "This issue of illegal immigration and addressing it is long ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Mike Thomas and Dave Bafford stopped by 28th Street Pit & Pub on July 15, to show their support at the “Coast2Coast” fundraiser, which raised funds to aid in the Gulf Coast cleanup effort. Judge Payne retires Serenity attained through vigorous hikes
Eighth District Judge A. Lynn Payne takes a break from hiking in Dry Canyon. A judge for 22 years, Payne retired from the bench last week. He uses hiking as a means of stress relief. I was walking along behind the judge when he abruptly made a left turn off the Flume Trail in Dry Fork Canyon and announced that his own trail was, “this way.” Over the next 15 minutes I worried about the 64-year-old man who was leading me up a rocky incline that even a mountain goat might balk at. He was still recovering from an upper respiratory infection of some kind and was stopping every 50 feet or so to cough heavily. “I’d hate for this to be ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

The Sports and Entertainment Law Society recruited Professor Christopher Schmidt of Chicago-Kent College of Law to present the history and legal implications of drug testing in sports. Professor Schmidt’s talk drew on a project he is currently working on entitled, “Governing Baseball.” He is exploring the history of the relationship between baseball and the government through four case studies: (1) The appointment of Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis as the first Commissioner of baseball in the wake of the Black Sox Scandal; (2) the integration of baseball; (3) team relocations and the expansion of ...
Google Answers: Geology of a mountain in China (Emei Shan)
Hi Olle, I've spent several hours researching your question, but have not really found much of specific geologic importance to Emei Shan. This may be due at least in part to restrictions on information imposed by the Chinese government. I was able to find several maps, atlases and reports that are available for purchase specifically on Chinese karst and carbonate geology, along with quite a few reports available online that deal specifically with the volcanic geology of Emei Shan. I also found a nice atlas of Chinese caves that is reccomended. Would these sources be acceptable as an answer for you? If so, please ...
