Low-wage workers are routinely denied proper overtime pay and are often paid less than the minimum wage, according to a new study based on a survey of workers in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. QUESTION: My employer owes me 16 years of unpaid overtime wages and refuses to disclose the number of accumulated sick and vacation days. I filed a complaint with the NJ Labor department. An investigator came and cited the employer on allegations and record keeping violation. The employer lied about records because it's cheaper to pay the fine.
