It Cannot Happen in America –But It Is!
In the United States of America we take great pride in what we refer to as the “Rule of Law”. We have a system where we attempt to give every one equal treatment and follow the law, some times even when it is painful. We give terrorists, murders and rapists the benefit of a trial by their peers in which their guilt must be established beyond a reasonable doubt. We have police and law enforcement purposefully separated from our judicial system so they can act independently. This is one way of checking and balancing the power of each of these to protect our rights. The Federal Government, with all of its power, ... market research, surveys and trends

WASHINGTON — Nearly all law enforcement agencies report that they provide body armor to their officers, but only 59 percent of the agencies require their officers to wear body armor at least some of the time, according to a new report by the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), a Washington, D.C.-based police research and consulting organization. The report details the findings of a survey that PERF conducted in partnership with the Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Homeland Security and Law Enforcement
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 may have made the single largest impact on law enforcement in the nation in 50 years. Enacted in response to the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the act created an interactive intelligence community that reaches from the community and state all the way up to the federal law enforcement level. As a result of the act, over $18 billion was allotted by Congress to state and local governments in an effort to increase local preparedness and national security. The grants included an additional $1 billion for protecting mass transit (buses, trains, ferries), port ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Will Kamala Harris' Death Penalty Opposition Cost Her?
In her campaign to become California's next attorney general, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris may be facing a big blue wall. Few endorsements are more coveted by politicians than those from police and law enforcement groups. But they are particularly important in the attorney general race between Harris and her GOP opponent, Steve Cooley, the district attorney of Los Angeles. A few major law enforcement groups will announce their endorsements during the summer, but Harris already faces challenges in gathering widespread support from police unions - because of her opposition to the death penalty. Harris has said in the ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Police & Law Enforcement Reform in Pakistan: Crucial for ...
It is a globally recognized fact that a state's police and law enforcement agencies play a critical role as the first line of defense against the threats of terrorism and insurgencies. An informative RAND study titled How Terrorist Groups End provides evidence that effective police and intelligence work, rather than the use of military force, deliver better counterterrorism results. Based on this conclusion, the report suggested to U.S. policymakers that they stop using the phrase "war on terrorism," because there is no battlefield solution to defeating terrorists. Another valuable study analyzing the police role ...
