For most of the 20th century, employment agencies were quasi-legal entities in international law. The International Labour Organisation in many Conventions called on member states to abolish them. However the UK ...

Cycling without brakes? You're breaking the law
The rider of a brakeless fixed-gear bike can slow down by resisting the rotation of the pedals on the rear wheel, but 1983 legislation states that you need a brake on the front wheel too. Photograph: Ty Milford/Getty Images The odd emergency stop is an inescapable fact of life for the cyclist, which is why it seems odd to me that there are thousands of riders in the UK merrily cruising along without brakes. And they are breaking the law. There are BMXs, often fitted with a freewheel and stopped with a trainer to the tyre, the braver subsection of fixed-gear riders and those whose bike is badly maintained to the point where there ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google Answers: UK Employment Law with regards to giving employer ...
An employee of mine decided to walk away from work today saying that she did not like it, and quits. Under her contract she is supposed to give one months notice before she goes, and she is well within the time frame stipulated for this clause to be in effect. She owes the company a few days holiday, and her pay cheque for last month has not been paid as yet. What am I allowed to do with her pay? I feel that as she has a contractual notice period of one month, which she has chosen to give up, she owes us the pay that she would have received in that month, i.e. We do not have to pay her for last month's work as ...
Copyright notice on UK website
In an effort to protect myself and my content from the growing number of content leaches that exist on the Internet, I am looking to add a very strict copyright and content usage policy to my websites. I am not a lawyer, so I dont know exactly what must be included. I have done a fair amount of research on the Internet and I have see a lot of websites offering copyright notice "templates", but these all seem to cover US copyright. Are there any similar services for the UK? If not, can anyone recommend a fairly in-expensive, but capable, UK solicitor that can write one for me, for less than 500? ($900 approx). I would also like ...
