To evaluate population metrics of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish in Lake Guntersville, Alabama. Currently, fishing mortality is unknown in Lake Guntersville. Current regulations in Alabama prevent the take of more than 1 blue catfish and flathead catfish over 34 inches. This project will examine the usefulness of creel and length limits designed to protect large catfish, and provide additional catfish population data for management biologists.
