Earnings management: the case of other postemployment benefits and ...
SFAS No. 106 dramatically changed the way firms account for other postemployment benefits (OPEBs). Most firms are not contract bound with respect to their OPEB plans and, thus, may curtail employee benefits to offset the higher expenses resulting from SFAS No. 106. In addition, with the many estimates used to compute the OPEB expense and the options of adopting the standard early as well as recognizing the entire transition obligation ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

As an underling to many former mediocre executives, I can say without a doubt, and without exception, the biggest precursor to complacency is a sense of hopelessness. If workers (at any level) feel hopeless that they will ever be able to make a change, or enjoy some benefit of the change, they will simply give the minimum effort it takes to bring home a paycheck. The way to build enthusiasm, excitement, and high performance is to offer some real, attainable rewards that are valuable to the recipients. posted 2 months ago Supply Chain and Sourcing Consultant With An Emphasis On Bringing Consumer Products to The Retail Marketplace
