Why Your Design Firm Makes Less Than It Should
Contrary to popular belief, an interior designer’s job does not consist primarily of design time.  This is not the sexy vision that young men and women dream about when they enter design school but it’s the reality that any seasoned designer can confirm.  Project management and project administration are the largest part of being an interior designer; all the brilliant design in the world cannot make up for a poorly run project and an unhappy client.  Effective management and administration will continue to be of paramount importance when running a successful firm but can there be a better mousetrap? The question that I ... market research, surveys and trends
43 Twitter Backgrounds You've Never Seen On A List Before ...
people to submit their Twitter backgrounds that have never been included on those lists design blogs put out. The response has been fantastic, as you will see! It is a little pet peeve of mine that the various lists tend to feature the same 100-200 Twitter background designs and claim that they are the best out of the millions of possibilities. I find it hard to believe that those lists could be so exhaustive as to have gone through every single Twitter background to determine the best. Besides, isn’t beauty in the eye of the beholder and judgment of design subjective? So I thought it would be a good idea to offer an ... market research, surveys and trends

2010 report: storage opportunities in Canada
Canada has a lot going for it when it comes to storage. Not only does it have the second largest proven oil reserves, second only to Saudi Arabia, it is also a bulk oil exporter to the US. Oil exports from Canada to the US hit 2.35 million barrels a day in December 2009, accounting for 25.1% of US oil imports and 12.7% of US total oil demand, according to the API. This represents a massive opportunity for storage operators. US-based Magellan Midstream Partners, for example, is already looking to play a role in supplying Houston-area refineries with Canadian crude. The concept of Canada shipping crude oil to Asian markets has ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google Answers: Current Architectural Influence of Frank Lloyd Wright
What architectural firms today would cite Frank Lloyd Wright as an influence in their work? His legacy was evident in many 20th century firms, first and second generation after Wright, but in the 21st century, which firms carry on in the highly geometric, nature-driven and or fractal language of his designs? Thanks for asking! Frank Lloyd Wright's "school" of architecture is often described as Organic. I've located current architectural firms and new architectural projects that use the term organic to describe their style, influence or legacy. Direct Descendants - Students, Family ...
