Welcome! This lesson is a guide for "generating ideas" for instructional tasks about interpersonal behaviors. It provides useful information about the interpersonal domain, but can also be used as a resource whenever you are assigned an interpersonal task. Included in the lesson is: this introduction a definition of terms a starter activity a table of data linking topics with keywords a case study a learning activity “Generating ideas? Why would I need a guide to come up with ideas?” – you might ask. “What’s so special about interpersonal tasks? They tell you the subject, you get the information, and you train the ...
and other learning experiences. The process consists broadly of determining the current state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating some "intervention" to assist in the transition. Ideally the process is informed by pedagogically and andragogically (adult learning) tested theories of learning and may take place in student-only, teacher-led or community-based settings. The outcome of this instruction may be directly observable and scientifically measured or completely hidden and assumed. There are many instructional design models but many are based on the ADDIE model with the ...
Project Notes: Performance Objectives
Thus far, I have completed most of my revisions, but still had a number of questions for Dr. Pan about the objectives (Terminal vs. Performance). I’m having difficulty understanding my workflow tasks for this project, and feel I may be ‘jumping the gun’ on a few parts–confusing both Dr. Pan and myself. This, I will have to look at more closely over the weekend. Plans: This weekend, I will be reviewing the intended workflow and assessing mine to determine if I’ve missed anything or need to press on. Now that the Proposal has been approved, I need to spend some time refining the skills and ... market research, surveys and trends

A reality we'd rather ignore
It is very easy to condemn teachers as they go on strike, but ponder this for a moment. Imagine trying to teach 30 children aged between five and 15 in one room, ranging from those with no school experience at all, unable to read and write, to those who are literate and want to get enough subject and literacy knowledge to survive (if indeed they can afford to go on to secondary school and escape a future of rural poverty as a commercial farm worker). Imagine, too, that some of your five-to-15-year-olds have parents who move between farms seasonally and are illiterate, and that some have passed foetal alcohol syndrome on to their ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Lesson 5 - Learner and Context Analysis
By now you've assessed your needs to determine the skills and knowledge you want your learners to acquire. From this came a goal statement, and after that you analyzed that goal to identify substeps, subordinate skills, and entry behaviors. The next thing we want to look at is the learners themselves, the context in which learning will take place, and the context in which the learners will eventually use their new skills. This is done by conducting both a Learner Analysis and a Context Analysis . There are three things you want to accomplish by doing this. First, you ...

Applied Math Filter: Help me use math! I'd like to learn more about mathematics and it's practical applications - particularly in Computer Science I'm a Computer Networking graduate (under 25) who never really done much math at university. My course was somewhere between computer science and communications engineering so maths sort of slipped through the cracks. Now, I'm looking to re-learn math. I know that a lot of mathematics is abstract but I'm having difficulties seeing practical applications. Where I'm at: I took calculus at high school but just scraped through (I spent more time fighting ...
