Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick announced the first-in-the-nation plan to manage development of the state’s coastal waters. The Massachusetts Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs released the Massachusetts Draft Ocean Energy Plan at the end of June after more than 100 public meetings and what Department Secretary Ian Bowles called more than a year of stakeholder input. I am trying to set up an itinerary and here is what I have so far: I am going to Salem, MA for a day or two; whale watching cruise; up the NE seacoast up to Maine on a tour bus; Nantucket for a day; and Rockport for a day. I have an extra day to work with, but I am torn between visiting the Berkshires in Western MA or going up to Ipswich, MA to visit the Crane Estate.
