Some 72 percent of the 1,600 organisations surveyed said they were "fairly satisfied" with their ERP package. It seems that both fields of expertise are ultimately about enabling and improving business processes, and improving management of business processes, through the provision of tools and methodologies. They do not actually have responsibility for design of business processes, that is up to the functional area, but do provide the means to execute those processes in the most effective manner possible. That being the case, integrating the methodology (Quality) and tools (IT) seems to hold promise for better coordination of internal services that support business processes.
