The 100 Senators serve staggered six-year terms. Each state has two senators, regardless of population. Every two years, approximately one-third of the Senate is elected at a time. Re-election rates for incumbents often exceed 90%. 1 Article I of the Constitution vests all legislative power in Congress. The House and Senate are equal partners in the legislative process (legislation cannot be enacted without the consent of both chambers); however, the Constitution grants each chamber some unique powers. The Senate is uniquely empowered to ratify treaties and to approve top presidential appointments. Revenue-raising bills must ...

I was pleased to co-author the article with Roger Raber, president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Charles Gould, president of Volunteers of America. The report highlighted the results of a 60-question survey, on which I consulted, of approximately 200 leading not-for-profit organizations. The 52 organizations that responded to the survey included the American Lung Association, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Red Cross, and National Public Radio, Inc. The Fix - Chris Cillizza's politics blog on
In an interview with The Fix this morning, Toomey said there's a "very clear distinction" between himself and Sestak -- charging that Sestak supports the "whole leftward agenda of this administration and this Congress," including the Employee Free Choice Act, cap-and-trade, and the health care overhaul. Toomey returned repeatedly to Sestak's support for TARP as the strongest evidence that the Congressman's agenda was out of step with average Pennsylvania voters. "The overwhelming majority of voters believe that we should not be bailing out companies," Toomey said, noting that Sestak ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Brown disappointed great change unmet
For Bill Brown, being a conservative isn’t about fiscal policies or interpreting the Constitution. It’s about conservation: energy, recycling, making more efficient use of materials and even using county money to buy and preserve land. He’s not a staunch advocate of the rights of private landowners, unlike many of his elected colleagues in county government. And he thinks the county is too tight with its money when it comes to encouraging business growth. “I think you’ve got to spend money to make money,” he said, citing the old capitalist mantra. But after just one term as an Allen County ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

How can I run two separate sessions on one pc using windows XP ...
I want to run two programs on my windows xp machine without them interfering with each other. In one "session" I want to do word processing and browse the Internet. The other session includes an automated script that accesses information on the Internet in order to publish my content in multiple locations. Under normally operating conditions, since the automated script session needs control of my screen I can't do both tasks at once. Is there a way to set up my system to do both and not have each session interfere with each other? I don't want to add another operating system to my machine. posted 1 month ago in ...
