A pile of apple cores, melon seeds, half eaten bread, corn kernels, and broccoli wait on a curb in black trash bags. But this food waste has a different destination than similar trash bags. Instead of being transported to the landfill with all the other dining hall garbage that comes from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, these food scraps will be picked up and taken downtown to the corner of St. Joseph and Ash Street to be composted and then returned to the soil. This food scraps/compost partnership involves the University of Missouri (Mizzou), campus dining services, and the Columbia Center for Urban ... market research, surveys and trends

Zero waste by 2020
Ten years. It may seem like a long time, but not when you're pursuing a goal as lofty as zero waste. That's how many years are left for Fairfax residents to reach "zero" if they're to achieve the stated goal of a 2007 Fairfax Town Council resolution. The resolution targets 2020—appropriately, a year with two zeroes in it. It may be the most ambitious zero-waste goal of any town in the country. But is it attainable? "It's a lot easier to pass a resolution than to implement it," admits Pam Hartwell-Herrero , executive director of Sustainable Fairfax and a town council member. ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
How much does a dumpster generally cost? - Yahoo! Answers
I will need a dumpster in a few weeks from now for remodeling purposes. I have family and friends who are all telling me which companies to go to, but none of them can tell me what sort of price range that they cost. under 100? over 500? thousands? They refuse to give me an answer +/- a few hundred. So I'm a little irritated going into getting prices without any idea what a dumpster normally costs. Waste Management says 610 dollars for one dumpster for two weeks. Is this typical? I don't understand why the company cannot give you a firm quote for the dumpster. I get those numbers in a few minutes with them ...
What is the best way to host a Waste Walk at a company that is new ...
Thank you for the feedback. This waste walk is in a call center environment. I am used to doing this in manufacturing. Unsure why its such a struggle in an office environment. This waste walk will involve reviewing CSR operating procedures and identifying waste. Defining what metrics we should use to gauge performance of CSR reps. i.e.- SLA's, Abandonment rate etc. At this point the company hasn't had a "customer" focus. Although, my goal is to change that. This is my first time in a call center environment. If anyone has any recommendations on metrics to be used that would be great. Also I have to keep in ...
