It was the very first email newsletter about Internet marketing. My staff and I have seen tectonic changes that will only accelerate. On the other hand, we've witnessed many "next big things" fizzle and die, never to be heard from again. The 12 trends below represent what I think you need to keep an eye on in the foreseeable future. Enjoy. 1. Mobile ...

These brands are usually paid for or identified through sponsors and viewed via various media. Advertising can also serve to communicate an idea to a mass amount of people in an attempt to convince them to take a certain action, such as encouraging 'environmentally friendly' behaviors, and even unhealthy behaviors through food ...

Pampers vs. Huggies: Diaper Comparison | ShopGala Coupons & Deals
I was no different and the conflicts extended to even the simplest decisions, like what brand of diaper to purchase. For my baby shower, there seemed to be an even split between the two major brands, Huggies and Pampers.  Half the diapers I received with my gifts were from Huggies lovers, the other half from Pampers supporters. But which did I prefer? Which diapers were going on my child’s bottom for the next two to three years? Did I have to pick a brand, or could I just buy what was on sale?  I was probably over-thinking it, as usual, but I didn’t want to screw up something as fundamental as diapering my child.  In the ... market research, surveys and trends

Holy Fire Publishing Releases The Ideal Woman (Paperback, US$11.99, ISBN#978-1-60383-047-8). Elizabeth Mwachari has dedicated her life to serving God in Kenya and growing spiritually through learning from Bible-believing men and women around the world. Mwachari reveals her concern about women and young girls and their identity through her new book, The Ideal Woman. She feels many Christian women go through life without answering a vital question: Who am I? It is her belief that people miss God's gift--Jesus Christ--when they fail to ask themselves that question. A Brief History of Coupons
Marketing genius Asa Chandler made an interesting choice when he created the first coupon in 1887. Looking for a name for the new marketing device, the Coca-Cola co-owner turned to the French language; deriving the word coupon from the French word "couper," meaning "to cut." Chandler's crystal ball proved prophetic as -- for more than 100 years -- millions of consumers have clipped their way to savings. With the invention of the Internet in the 1990s, thrifty Americans began trading scissors for websites that allowed them to download printable coupons and access online coupon codes . Digital coupons help stores get more info about you
Tara Kuczykowski walked into a Target store in Columbus, Ohio, recently and handed her mobile phone to the cashier, who scanned the digital coupon on the phone's screen. Kuczykowski got $1 off Ziploc bags, and Target got something, too: another entry in its database about her. Invented over a century ago as anonymous pieces of paper that could be traded for discounts, coupons have evolved into tracking devices for companies that want to learn more about their customers' habits. Although they might look similar to those in Sunday newspaper circulars, many of today's digital versions use bar codes packed with ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Cindy Sheehan shakes up the Drone-Making Man
WASHINGTON D.C. - Cindy Sheehan, preparing to protest the US drones that kill civilians, has already shaken up the security patrol at General Atomics in DC. Before she left home, the General Atomics "landlord" called her, concerned about the protest on Thursday, July 8. After she arrived in DC, she was watched by General Atomics security. Also, Sheehan's wallet was stolen and someone attempted to run up a $911.00 bill for merchandise at Target. Backing up a bit, General Atomics is the maker of the Predator B drone that crashed near the US/Mexico border at Nogales, Arizona, in April of 2006. What is the opportunity to revive newspapers? Is the iPad going to ...
Sadly this was answered in an essay on Slashdot.org back in 2005 ("A Recipe for Newspaper Survival in the Internet Age") and not a lot of people listened. The first step would have been to build communities on your sites, allow voting on stories and comments, get discussions going to the point of actually reporting news and insights - and most papers have only done half of this. You can comment on stories, but besides the other readers no one pays attention. There is no moderation by the users, the papers are doing the censoring of comments. Basically, all you can do is comment or create a side blog not many people will ever see ...
