Video Productions Portland – Knocking Down the Ivory Tower
Corporate sales and marketing teams are called upon annually to produce more sales with fewer resources. This is difficult enough when sales and marketing are both in the same location. However, modern sales organizations can span the globe. There is also a greater reliance on channel partners: resellers, distributors, agents, or even franchisees. Channel partners need to be highly effective as well; but the corporate marketing team has little control over how aggressive they really are. Channel partners who are aggressive are often pushing their own message. Corporate marketing can spend millions each year developing ... market research, surveys and trends

Cindy Sheehan shakes up the Drone-Making Man
WASHINGTON D.C. - Cindy Sheehan, preparing to protest the US drones that kill civilians, has already shaken up the security patrol at General Atomics in DC. Before she left home, the General Atomics "landlord" called her, concerned about the protest on Thursday, July 8. After she arrived in DC, she was watched by General Atomics security. Also, Sheehan's wallet was stolen and someone attempted to run up a $911.00 bill for merchandise at Target. Backing up a bit, General Atomics is the maker of the Predator B drone that crashed near the US/Mexico border at Nogales, Arizona, in April of 2006. Fortunately, no one was ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google Answers: Market segmentation for stock video footage
I got a great answer yesterday from bobbie7 - the worldwide market for stock video footage is about $300MM per year - several sources were provided (NICE JOB!!!). My follow-up to that includes three items: 1. How is that market segmented? What percentage of the customers are ad agencies, film studios, independent film makers, etc... and, what kind of footage are they demanding? 2. What part of the $300MM market is spent on very high quality footage such as HD format (more expensive), and what part is spent on lower quality, less expensive clips? 3. One source reports the market is growing at 20% per year - what is fueling the ...
Should a photographer have photos on their business card ...
To clarify, the business cards are for a client of mine who is an on-location portrait photographer (maternity, babies, children, families, weddings, high school seniors, military homecomings). I have designed the logo and helped her bring the identity of her business to the website and blog. I am designing her business cards (2.5" squares with rounded corners), other office collateral and a small marketing brochure to hand out. My initial reaction was (like many of you) to say that she should not have any photos on her cards (too small of a space, keep it simple, direct clients to website etc). However, my client felt really ...
