Khadija Sharife: Fifa's Gordion Knot
South Africa's 2010 World Cup 'feel good' factor is addictive. At taxi ranks, street bazaars and tea-rooms, South African citizens everywhere are filled with elation - and pride. Just sixteen years ago, within living memory, non-white South Africans were deprived of basic human rights by the brutal apartheid regime. From stadiums - completed in advance to fulfill Fifa's (International Federation of Association Football) insistence on a six month 'buffer zone', to airports and other infrastructure, South Africa has fulfilled Fifa's requirements to the tee. The LOC has also paced expenditure ... market research, surveys and trends

Before we get on to the massive Q and As, I felt a need to clarify a certain point.  People might be getting the misconception the the Chevy Volt will be based on the Malibu.  See this article so titled: ( LINK ). This isn’t true.  Lutz said the concept’s aerodynamics were not good enough for the efficiencies required for the Volt to get a 40 mile range, and thus had to be re-designed.  This “production Volt” will still look like the concept in some ways.  GM is not releasing the design yet or saying much about it.  Per designer Bob Boniface he wants to keep it a surprise ( see my interview ). Lutz said ... market research, surveys and trends

Shire plc - Statement re ProAmatine
acquired ProAmatine as a part of the acquisition of Roberts Pharma in 1999 and Shire conducted and completed the post marketing trials that the FDA required. The FDA, however, viewed these trials as inconclusive and required that additional trials be conducted for ProAmatine to maintain its marketing authorization. As a result, Shire elected to withdraw the product effective September 30, 2010 and notified the FDA in November 2009 and healthcare professionals earlier this year of this decision. You should obviously consult a lawyer, which I am not. But from my general knowledge, you are dealing with trademark infringement, not copyright. Do you or this other company have a registered trademark? I suggest you start by looking at the website for the US Patent and Trade Office. But if you were there first, it doesn't matter if the other company is bigger than you. I remember many years ago, NBC spent millions of dollars developing a new logo (their stylized N). But after revealing the logo, it turned out that a local PBS station in Nebraska was already using a virtually identical design. NBC had to settle with ...
