The unemployment rate for the Concho Valley workforce area slightly improved from April to May from 6.6 percent to 6.2 percent, according to figures from the Concho Valley Workforce Development Board. Unemployment numbers also decreased across the state. Total Nonagricultural Employment rose for the fifth straight month in Texas, adding 43,600 jobs in May. This was the largest over-the-month increase since March 2007. Almost 124,000 jobs have been added to this employment series since January of this year.
