Aug. 23--Pacific Ethanol's acquisition of Phoenix Bio-Industries and its ethanol plant in Goshen will cost $47.5 million, according to a recent financial filing detailing the deal announced this month. If completed, the acquisition will give the Fresno-based company ownership of California's first full-scale corn-to-ethanol plant. The deal is contingent on the plant meeting certain production standards as well as Pacific Ethanol raising financing.
