These marketers defined it as “ …seeking to influence social behaviours not to benefit the marketer but to benefit the target audience and the general society.” It in short, created a dialogue between consumers and the brand and leveraging the value that was created in that process. Social media is primarily Internet based: whilst your website provides company and product information and Internet tools such as search, pay-per-click, and webinars enable customers to ... market research, surveys and trends
when roi measurement and actual effectiveness are mutually exclusive
In other words, how do you sell a tactic up the chain of command that you know will work but can’t provide definite numbers? Or conversely, how do you dissuade a course of action that has proven ineffective, but which your executives embrace because they understand the number of impressions or “hits” or lives interrupted by the campaign? Known Badness vs. Unknown Goodness Traditional PR and marketing has never had much measurability, but it is a known entity. What was the return on investment for ... market research, surveys and trends

The Time Is Now to Take Shopper Marketing Beyond the Store
According to Deloitte's 2010 Back-to-School Survey, three out of 10 consumers plan to use their mobile phones to assist in their back-to-school shopping. No doubt, as shoppers look to social media for product information, reviews and sales, the ecology of shopping is changing rapidly. As it does, marketers are trying to address two challenges. Google Answers: Public relations - info about how measurement is ...
I am interested in obtaining articles, reports, case studies, etc. on how the PR industry is using measurement, e.g. the analysis of "clips" (press articles), to show the value or progress of their PR work. Other business departments use measurement to gauge the impact of their work. Are these measurement practices applicable to the communications field?
