The Econ department is great because there’s a wide range of professors who are all experts in their respective fields. Even if you’re not in one of their classes, many of the professors are very open to meeting with any students to discuss their passion. They’re a great resource for understanding the economics behind world events. The large department is both a blessing and a curse, however, as it is most built for driven students who are willing to reach out and ask professors for help or about a specific interest. The department can definitely be overwhelming for new or shy students. Read your professor’s CV during the first ...

From Tasting Room To Winery With Sean Boyd of Rotie Cellars ...
Anonymity. It is one of the great difficulties facing the young winemaker. How to break through the wall of advertorial noise, the clamor, protectively surrounding established labels? The quality is there. The dedication, the labor. But absent good fortune or dumb luck, the new kid on the block faces a long slog toward much deserved recognition. And this is as it should be within the marketing ecosystem. Indeed, during my recent participation in the Wine Bloggers Conference there was not an ‘official’ word spoken of a number of very good small producers, Sapolil Cellars , Stephenson Cellars , Kerloo and, of course, Rôtie market research, surveys and trends
clast » Shibuya Girls Collection '09S/S
founded TGC as a multimedia fashion event focusing on "real clothes" — low-priced domestic brands with an eye towards street trends. Instead of generic foreign drones imported from Eastern Europe, TGC used young models from popular magazines to parade the clothes on the runway. With its winning formula, TGC found quick success and ultimately rewrote the rules for Japanese fashion: choosing inclusivity over exclusivity and immediate relevance over artistic intention. TGC was "real" fashion for "real" Japanese women. Take a hike, "fake" fashion purveyors! Now in 2009, Tokyo Girls Collection has taken its rightful place as a core ... market research, surveys and trends

October Auto Sales Uptick May Presage the 'New Normal' - Auto Observer
U.S. auto sales in October turned in a performance reminiscent of what can now be called the good old days before last year's market collapse, about even with October 2008 but up 13 percent from September. October saw the first year-to-year sales increase -- excluding the Cash for Clunkers months this summer -- in two years. Sales of 837,800 vehicles during the month translated into a Seasonally Adjusted Annual  Sales rate of 10.43 million units - about the same number that the consensus of industry watchers is still predicting for total actual sales volume for all of calendar 2008. (The SAAR last October ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Euro Cars Top Lease List | The Truth About Cars
The Detroit automakers are trimming or eliminating their leasing programs due to plunging resale values and inflated residuals. In fact, in July leases accounted for only 19.7 percent of retail volume for the U.S. auto industry. However, leasing remains the way a lot of automakers use to put someone into an expensive car they really can't afford. And four of the most-commonly leased vehicles in the U.S. are BMWs (7 Series, Z4, 6 Series and X3). Bucking the current trend, sales and marketing VP at BMW Group Financial Services, Daniel DeChristopher, told BusinessWeek "we are still very committed to the leasing business." ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
The Grapes of Math
There I was, sitting in a fairly swank New York eatery with a friend, Dave Sokolin, a well-known wine merchant. This was in the spring of 2008. Weeks earlier, I’d finished ghostwriting his book on investing in wine, Investing in Liquid Assets , and we were at this Midtown restaurant to share a celebratory meal with his publisher. He’d thoughtfully brought a selection of very fine wine for me to taste … In the collection, a half-bottle of the 2001 Chateau d’Yquem – one of the exceedingly few wines that wine critics Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator both rated 100 points. Yquem is a Sauterne, what some people call a ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Best Road Bike Under $3000? - Yahoo! Answers
I have been a road cyclist for over 4 years and recently decided to purchase my second road bike. I am willing to spend between $2,000 up to $3,000. My current bike is the 2003 Specialized Allez Elite Triple. It cost me $1,199 after discount and taxes including Shimano clipless pedals. I am in my early 30s. I am 5'7" and almost 140lbs. My average mph is 16.8mph and have over 3,700 miles on my bike. Usually my ride is roughly 20 miles. I go to the beach on my bike and ride back home after I sit on the bench while staring at women in bikinis for a bit. I am a relaxed rider and I never raced or do I ever want to ...
