I hate missed chances. When you are a stAte fan they take up far more of the conversation with fellow fans than is probably healthy. At some point you have to quit carrying the burden of missed chances and go forward. After that introduction, I’m going to complain about missed chances because I have a positive counter-point to offer to illustrate why it is frustrating. The past few years we’ve seen a “text your answer” poll or trivia game on the video board at ASU Stadium at each game. After sending in my response I was always puzzled why I never received a response text with an offer to sign-up for ... market research, surveys and trends

Last Friday, as we do at the end of each financial year to give thanks for our own good fortune, we pitched up at Streetlevel in Crown Street to cook and serve dinner to around 150 people. As always, Robin, Kim, Robert and the rest of the team made us feel very welcome. Also as usual, Sherril from Nestle and Michael from Moraitis came to the party with generous donations of delicious cakes,  food, hot chocolate (mmm), MILO and beautiful fresh produce including potatoes, onions, garlic, carrot and oranges. It’s hard to write anything without making it sound like it’s all about us, when it’s all about Streetlevel ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Banks' hard sell: Opt in for more overdraft fees - The Red Tape ...
As an Aug. 15 congressionally imposed deadline approaches to stop collecting fees for most debit card-related overdrafts, banks are blanketing account holders with pitches designed to entice them back into the costly programs.   Consumers are seeing pop-up ads when they log in to their online banking accounts and getting paper notices in the mail. Some are even getting pitched at bank branches or ATMs. The enticements hawk rebranded overdraft coverage with varied names   -- "courtesy pay," "Buffer Zone," "debit card advance," or simply "debit card overdraft coverage." But most of the pitches evoke the same logic: "If ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

How can I find what test audiences "ruin"? | Ask MetaFilter
I'm fascinated by changes instigated by movie/tv test audiences. Any good way to find more (or confirm internet rumors)? After complaining about the ending of THE DESCENT, someone told me there was an alternate ending but test audiences hated it. Time and time again, I've heard the vague rumor about the alternate endings for ARMY OF DARKNESS, an article on FATAL ATTRACTION etc that were scrapped for reshoot by fickle midwesterners with a score card. Cat and Girl had a strip about an ending of PRETTY IN PINK where Molly Ringwald chooses Ducky that I still don't know if it's based on fact or not (it's not ...

Scarecrow looked out protectively over the Goode Farm through his navy blue plastic button eyes. It was a perfect spring morning, and the slight breeze made his straw tingle. It felt good to be sort of alive. At first glance, everything seemed to be in perfect harmony. The cows and horses were brunching in the upper meadow, in the barnyard the pigs were teaching their piglets to play in the mud, over in the henhouse was Clara complaining loudly, as usual, and by the pond the sheep were busy admiring their coiffures in the reflection and rearranging their almost perfect curls, also as usual. In front of the ...
