surrounded by fresh-scrubbed twentysomethings in nice suits, waiting to be interviewed for a job I knew nothing about. That's when the manager came out to change the music—skipping from "Don't Stop Believing" to "Any Way You Want It." Now, I like Journey as much as the next terminal ironist, but that soundtrack, combined with the presence of so many milling hopefuls, made me feel like I'd stumbled into Rush Week purgatory. A few days before, I'd sent a resume to Hyphire Solutions in Tigard. Twenty minutes after hitting the send button, I received an email response claiming I seemed ...

I’m not worried.  It has been good enough to make me think something bad is lurking in the shadows, narrowing its eyes and biding its time. I’ve got my ducks in a row, my fingers crossed, and a good chunk in the e-fund to mitigate any unforeseen problems ahead; planning helps there. My day-job is good; it pays the bills. I’ve been promoted , and have leverage to manage my time as I see fit, so long as my must dos, DO get done.  The situation is great, and I’m very thankful for the time I’ve learned to delegate .  It’s saved me a precious commodity these days: time . Why Short Sellers Want to Crash the Tupperware Party
When the Federal Trade Commission proposed new rules this spring for multilevel marketers businesses best known for commercials that promise riches selling herbal supplements and beauty supplies it drew howls of protest. Tupperware party-givers, diet pill vendors and knife salesmen sent the agency more than 15,000 letters complaining that the proposed rules would undo a $30-billion-a-year industry. Now the regulator has gained an unusual ally: short sellers. These investors are betting that the stocks of multilevel marketing companies will decline when the new rules, which have received little public attention, go into effect. industry trends, business articles and survey research

Don't believe everything you read in get-rich-fast books
The author of that series, Robert Kiyosaki, says he went from bankrupt homeless person at 38 to retired multimillionaire at 47. His story has inspired me to start writing a paperback telling fatties they should eat more chocolate and watch more TV if they want to look like supermodels. The success of the Rich Dad, Poor Dad franchise shows that a book titled Making Money Is Extremely Hard Work just won't sell. This may be why most of the books I recommended have to be ordered while you're bound to find Kiyosaki's paperbacks in your CNA. How to Start a Business: Multi-Level Marketing
ulti-level marketing, also known as network sales or MLM, is a method of selling which depends on networking between people. The salespeople not only sell their product, but also recruit other salespeople who in turn sell the product and recruit other salespeople. The resulting hierarchy produces levels of distributors all working to promote and sell the product and sharing in the profits of the levels below them. It effectively bypasses the traditional forms of promotion and distribution in favor of a large network of independent distributors. Companies that employ this strategy provide a number of different compensation plans ...

Everyone I know ducks and runs whenever they hear anyone from either of those companies coming, so my advice would be "none of the above". The only home sales companies I have personal experience with anyone actually making any real money are either Avon or Mary Kay. YMMV. I have tried Amway and it didn't work for me.
