And even if they're not Chief Marketing Officers, they still have to deal with same issues of market ambiguity, complexity and accountability. The late business guru Peter Drucker put marketing at the center of a business's purpose, but that center tums out to be peppered with blind alleys and potholes," explains author Dick Martin, fonner AT&T public relations and brand management executive. Dick Martin Blogs: Branding
Opponents say the company's coffee houses should ban gun-toting customers, just as they ban those who aren't wearing shirts or shoes. Proponents of the law say the company should keep its caffein-stained fingers off the second amendment.  Both sides love the debate because it keeps the issue in the news.  My own opinion was forged when AT&T got caught in the crossfire between the Religious Right and Planned Parenthood over abortion. I think Starbucks should avoid this issue like watery Nescafe. The company should say nothing beyond "our stores follow local laws." Otherwise, it risks being sucked into ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

I've heard suggestions that elements in the FBI, who may not be too enamoured of President Obama's improving relations with the Russians, may have engineered it. We simply don't know, but the fact is that we are not in a Cold War any more and I don't think this will have much impact at all. Firstly, everyone knows something like this goes on all the time, even between friendly states. Secondly, the US and Russia have too much at stake NOT to improve their relations. Russia is one of the permanent five members of the United Nations so the Americans have to try to work with them if they want to get ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
"Rescue Me": The tragedy of the modern guy's guy
Let's tell the truth: Women are, for the most part, more anxious than men. I think I finally know why. If you give a man a big problem to solve, he'll say, "OK, OK, I'll deal with it. Just give me a second." You come back a few hours later, and he's drinking a beer and watching a YouTube clip on his computer. "So, did you handle it?" you ask. "What?" he'll mumble. Women don't do this. Give a woman a problem to solve and she'll sit and mull it over and analyze the folds of it and then do a little research and after reading about it on the Internet for a few hours, ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

What have you done with your masters degree?
It seems like eons ago that I got my masters degree, 1971, I got it in histroy and education. My History BA did not get me a job. So I thought I would go into education. That did not help because at thr time teachers were a dime a dozen and school districts did not want to pay for a masters degree when they could get a BA cheaper. Today that has changed masters are now required in many states within five years of hiring. I ended up in state government retiring as a bureau chief in the personnel area. The masters did not help in this area as it was not required.   However I considered my self a historian and continued over ...
