Online social spaces are fascinating market research tools because they have taken the old, and very expensive focus group model, and made it super efficient.  Inside of social spaces we can hear real conversations about our companies ...

Businesses also refer to social media as user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM). Social media utilization is believed to be a driving force in defining the current period as the Attention Age . A common thread running through all definitions of social media is a blending of technology ...

The client side - Being Peter Kim
There's an inescapable fact about being a successful consultant: you must possess a great level of empathy regarding the professionals you seek to assist. Understanding the experiences and challenges that come from being accountable for running a business is a must. Even better if you possess that understanding yourself, having worked on the client side. If you've seen the award winning film "The Blind Side" or even better read Michael Lewis's original book ( here's a free excerpt  that pretty much sums up the whole thing), you know about the importance of the left tackle position and how tough ... market research, surveys and trends

Pharma Marketing Blog: November 2007
That's how I see Dr. Dan Carlat's new focus on redeeming himself by engaging in some freelance "counter detailing" in his home state of Massachusetts. You'll recall that Carlat recently wrote a true confession of how he earned $30,000 as an MD shill for Wyeth a few years ago (see " Dr. Carlat's True Confession: 199,999 More to Go "). Many people called for him to give the $30,000 to charity or back to Wyeth, but Carlat demured. Carlat explained on his blog and in an interview with Ed Silverman over at Pharmalot that "I'll be doing the opposite of what I did with Effexor, which ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
The Effective Intranet – Engaging the Employee as Customer
Enterprise intranets are usually created to act as the main conduits for internal collaboration, including content creation / acquisition. But, to-date, most are failing to engage their internal customers: the employees of corporations. According to a 2009 report by Watson Wyatt , only 50% of employees accessed the intranet on a daily basis; 80% said their company’s system needed improvement; and 50% said searching on their intranet was too difficult. Instead of functioning as a framework to access self-service portals and the apps/tools needed to be more productive, intranets are often difficult to navigate, out-of-date, ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

What social media strategy would you advice for banking business ...
This is a good question that doesn't fit the current norm of social media because for wealth management the customer is of a different type. The wealth management customer/user is probably not interested in taking the time out to contribute because there is not value to them to do so. Plus, most people are highly guarded about their money. Having said all that, I think a private social media sight where people know they are not being exposed to the world would potentially work. People still need/want answers to questions. I don't know of any best practices as the social media space is still infant, but the space for ...
