(Reuters) - "How to Better Market a Film Opening" might be the sequel to 3-D film "How to Train Your Dragon" if critics have their way. Analysts say DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc's strategy for 'Dragon' failed, underscoring how Hollywood, which spends over $4 billion a year promoting movies, is under pressure to cut costs and experiment -- and stumbling occasionally. From Time Warner Inc's Warner Bros to Walt Disney Co, Hollywood's stalwarts are employing Youtube and Twitter, consolidating advertising staff, using fans to spread the message through viral marketing -- any way to get the ...

Megan Fox , Josh Duhamel , Tyrese Gibson , Jon Voight , Anthony Anderson and John Turturro also star, while voice-actors Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving voice Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively. Producers Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto developed the project in 2003, with a treatment written by DeSanto. Executive producer Steven Spielberg came on board the following year, hiring Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The United States Military and General Motors (GM) loaned vehicles and aircraft during ...

Oldest Living Digital Marketer* Tells All
The second most misused word in our industry, after strategy, has to be campaign. When I started in the biz, it meant the planned and coordinated totality of a selling idea and an executional approach for a brand. Campaigns rarely lasted less than a year. Some lasted 20 years or more. Things are sure different now. It can be rather challenging to work in a segment of the business where one banner ad executed in four sizes is considered a campaign. Or where all of the messages and media of a finite period, regardless of their look, feel, or message, are called a campaign. Google says those 25 results you punch into AdSense are a ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
The Droid Phone Gets Marketing — But Is That Enough to Combat the ...
(GigaOM Pro, sub. req’d), over the weekend put up a web site touting what it’s positioning as an iPhone slayer: the Droid phone . It was buttressed by a TV ad, which puts the Droid’s launch date in November . Indeed, the trifecta of Google, Verizon and Motorola means this device will have heavy-duty, pointed marketing behind it. But will that be enough to give the iPhone a run for its money? Specifications for the Droid phone were laid out on the web site. It will have: Android 2.0, a significant overhaul of the open-source operating system, with user interface improvements including the advanced use of widgets industry trends, business articles and survey research

So, will Apple's latest innovation change the world or is it iPadding?
Among many virals slagging Apple on the internet is a picture of its boss Steve Jobs contorted into a yoga-like position. "How to get reception on your iPhone," reads the caption. LoL. The Simpsons also savaged Apple in its satirical guise of "Mapple." "I could never afford a Mapple product," Lisa tells a saleswoman. "But can I buy fake white earbuds so people think I have a miPhone." Salesperson: "Sure. They're called 'miPhonies' . . . and they cost $40." Lisa ends up with a 'miPod' later, getting a bill the size of a telephone book for ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

When the celebrated Maastricht Treaty established the framework for what we now know as the European Union in 1993, hopes rode high. The treaty gave citizens the right to move to and live in any member state, led to a universal currency, and set out promising economic and social agreements. The EU would challenge the United States's dominance on the world scene, boosters said, and solidify a pan-European identity among the separate states. In Europe at Bay , Alan W. Cafruny takes off the rose-colored glasses and investigates the current state of the EU. Working against orthodox analyses, Cafruny argues that various problems ...

MacBook Air, Apple's latest worlds' thinnest laptop Vs Sony Vaio ...
Personally, I believe the MacBook Air is the more innovative product. It has it's shortcomings but the problem is that people generally "don't get the point" of it. It's not meant to be a powerhouse laptop. Apple consistently pushes the boundaries of design and technology, Sony tends to rehash the same design and technology again and again (look at their phones for starters). The Apple also does not contain proprietary 'bloat-ware' unlike the Sony. I'm not going into the usual OS-X vs. Vista fanboy debate, but generally Apple provides software which makes you 'feel' more creative and you ...
When is a 'gimmick' advertising site a good investment? :: Free ...
Q: I see lots of sites like the milliondollarhomepage and 500words and all this jazz. What the heck? What's the basic premise of these, and do they really bring traffic to your site? How would I determine if they're a good advertising investment too? Dave's Answer: What an interesting question! As it turns out, I have recently purchased links off two of these sort of novelty or gimmick marketing sites, Joel Comm's and Randy Cassingham's . Each was approximately $100 for a link that will be up and online for at least a year or two, if not longer, and to be candid, both are good ...
