theory that models how users come to accept and use a technology. The model suggests that when users are presented with a new technology, a number of factors influence their decision about how and when they will use it, notably: Perceived usefulness (PU) - This was defined by Fred Davis as "the degree to which a person believes that using a particular system would enhance his or her job performance". Perceived ease-of-use (PEOU) - Davis defined this as "the degree to which a person believes that using a particular system would be free from effort" (Davis, 1989).

Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) « Samiaji Sarosa's BLOG
TAM was formulated by Fred D. Davis to provide a valid measurement scale for assessing user acceptance of computers (Davis 1989, 1993). TAM is focused more on technology, and is claimed to be different from previous measurements as it provides a valid measurement scale to predict user acceptance of IT. These measurements were derived from TRA. To measure user acceptance, TAM uses two variables, “perceived usefulness” and “perceived ease” of use (Davis 1989, 1993). Perceived usefulness (PU) refers to the degree to which the user believes the new technology would enhance job performance (Davis 1989, 1993; Davis, Bagozzi & Warshaw ... market research, surveys and trends
Resistance to Information Systems – A Conceptual Framework ...
There exist different views of user resistance and multi-level views which attempt to incorporate organisational constraints and demographics (Venkatesh et al. 2003). One can view resistance as an amalgam of social, technical and organisational factors that prevent the desired outcome of technology intervention. Unlike resistance models that are limited to user resistance, the conceptual definition of resistance employed in this article is more difficult to deconstruct. The construct that would be used would be that of non-acceptance combined with non-usage. Adapting some of the operational definitions of user resistance and the ... market research, surveys and trends

Have a level of comfort with specific capabilities, 4. Be able to connect business needs to those capabilities, 5. Some people will think that the "addiction" in the title is over the top, or at least used metaphorically. It is used literally, and is not an exaggeration. Addiction is the persistent use of a substance where that use is detrimental to the user. It is not the substance that is the problem -- more limited use may be beneficial. It is the extent and circumstances of the use that determine if the behavior is addictive or not. Spreadsheets are a wonderful invention. They are an excellent tool for what they are good at. The problem is that they are often stretched far beyond their home territory. The overuse of ...
