1 - last week where I politely asked that they re examine the price so that I could be more competitive and ensure a long term relationship...  The price returned to me varied by a couple of pennies in either direction per sku... 2- Where I was more blunt and resent back the quote less 15% and indicated I would place the order if the pricing was accepted.  It was returned confirming that the price offered was their best price. As I see it, I can either accept the price as the lowest...or have another person or company negotiate pricing (not sure how to find)... or fly to china and see if that would make a difference. ...

It is interesting that some years ago IBM noted that in their first few years in selling, the best sales people were what Larry Wilson described as Expressive Personalities. These were good door openers, promotional types with strong people skills. However that did not last and by five years the best sales people were always the Analytical Personalities, sales engineers, detail types with strong technical skills.
