The Sales Funnel

carries a great article on the consumer decision journey - and shoots holes in the now outdated "sales funnel" metaphor. Whilst the piece focuses primarily on B2C buyer behaviour, our own observations suggest that many of the principles are equally relevant to the process of B2B buying. The authors explain that the linear process concept implied by the "sales funnel" – although attractively (and deceptively) simple – no longer reflects the complexities of today's customer decision journeys. It fails to capture the many touch points and two-way interactions that are a consequence of an increasingly ...
and operational strategy, digital strategy is the process of specifying an organization's vision, goals, opportunities and initiatives in order to maximize the business benefits digital investments and efforts provide to the organization. Google Says The Old Sales Funnel Theory Is Dead For Car Marketers ...
is out to change the way automotive marketers think about their basic business, and they have new data that just may do the trick. Ask most garden variety auto industry marketing executives about the “sales funnel” and they will talk to you about a six month process during which a car buyer typically starts the cycle of buying a new car: from the first time they decide that there is a new car in their near future to the time they take delivery. This six-month cycle idea influences the way car advertisers “flight” their ad campaigns in the media, and allocate brand building ads versus retail ads meant to drive people to the ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

“Flip the Funnel” is Flipping Fantastic
You might have heard of Joseph Jaffe from his popular blog “Jaffe Juice”  where he blogs about all things “new marketing.” His latest book is BIG on energy, BIG on content and BIG on opinion.  It’s customer experience commentary, examples and data on steroids.  It’s intense, it’s serious, and it’s required reading for any CEO who is fond of saying things like “We value our customers” then creates ridiculous policies that make it darn near unpleasant for those customers to do business with his company. Let me begin by saying that this is one of those books I received from the publisher, but that I would have purchased ANYWAY.  As ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Tracking lead conversions after going offsite to a captcha page ...
I have a new adwords client, and I have added an enquiry form to the bottom of each of her 13 different product pages to allow site visitors to fill out the form, which sends the client an email with the details of the person. When they press the submit button, the form redirects them offsite to a generic email captcha form (to avoid bots filling out the forms), and then redirects them back to the client's site to a thankyou page. I have Google AdWords conversion tracking code on the thankyou page to measure a lead generated, and I also have Google Analytics on every page of the site. Also, I'm thinking of ...
